Midnight Canidae ★ Leader

Klutzy yet confident! Energetic in everything they do, and determined to work hard. They want to get strong to stop "the bad pokemon". They aren't very trusting due to encounters with Team Skull and Drowzee. (Some may even call them a bit paranoid :3) They love bothering Chatot with questions, and loves chatting with the guild members.

Simon °𖦹｡ Impulse Control

Extremely shy, but ecstatic that he's finally joined Wigglytuff's Guild! Midnight's reckless nature makes him have to rush into situations (and make new friends).

Ever since his papa left he wanted to follow in his footsteps and explore abandoned ruins. He's also a ghost magnet, and "doesn't blame" his father for leaving. Once he found his 'weird stone' (relic fragment) washed up on the coast of beach cave, he took it as a sign of encouragement.

Constantly suffers from a stuffy nose, and seeks heat by sticking close to Midnight.

Vignette ꩜ Seer

Vignette is an absol who wants not only warn people of catastrophe, but prevent them all together. She was banished from her remote village once an attempt at prevention ended in an even worse catastrophe. She ran a long time until meeting Midnight near the Northern Desert.

With Midnight's guidance, perhaps they could help people

Patches ♤ Medium

One of the ghost types drawn to Simon for some reason. His fairy typing causes him to be unable to lie, so he often speaks in a round about way. He's taken an interest in Midnight due to how effective they are in not just defeating ghost types (easy for a dark type), but how they banish them.

Vignette is more than a little off put about this, but he's decided to join the team "for a while". He enjoys creating chaos and difficult situations in dungeons. A favorite past time is creating trouble with Midnight.

with the new grian lore of his eyes just being void from the tour video, i’ve started imagining him like mimikyu, where he’s wearing a disguise to cloak the eldritch creature he is underneath and he sort of cut holes out for eyes. hc that all his clothes are ratty and patched up, because they’re scraps he put together to appear humanoid. his hair is just. like. a collection of hay, lmao

It's been a while since I posted [oops], so here's my oc [Marcellus] as a Pokemon Trainer<3

Now, before anyone comes at my saying "but the Pokemon's colours are wrong", I know. It was intentional.

For Mimikyu, Who Mars calls Mimi, he made her a new cloak to wear out of the fabric from his cape. He added a little patch from Mimi's original cloak.

Chandelure and Phantump I just tweaked their shiny colour palette slightly. Same goes for Noibat, just tweaked his palette.

Lore time! I don't want to say too much 'cause I don't want to spoil anything from the main story lol

Pokemon au:

Marcellus grew up in lavender town and is a ghost/dark type Trainer. Mimikyu was his first Pokemon partner. They've known each other since Mars was a baby but, didn't become his office party until he was 10.

As he grew up, Mars didn't really like Pokemon battles. He felt bad. He didn't want his or the opponent getting hurt the way they did. When he did battle, he didn't necessarily give it his all for that reason. He's a fairly easy trainer to beat.

He realized his main goal was to help Pokemon. Obviously he couldn't work at a Pokemon center, he wasn't anywhere near like nurse Joy. Though, he would stop by regularly to ask about Pokemon healing.

Once he was old enough, he began to travel. Learning about different kinds of medicine and techniques.

Alola really caught his eye. Not because of the scenery or sunny skies, but for the Aether Foundation. It was a perfect place for him to really set off with his goal.

Might make more posts about this just an fyi. I'll also include my other oc's at some point.

So! I made a post on my main account a few days back making a joke about Loop looking like a xurkitree. I edited their eyes onto an image from bulbapedia, and voilà!

A loop both in full colour and greyscale!

But that got me thinking - what pokémon best suited the other characters? I’m still stumped on most of them, but the ideas for Siffrin flowed way too fast. some were obvious - pokémon with funky hats like murkrow, space themed pokémon (with a little extra) like minior or jirachi, celebi or basically any ghost pokémon for the loops, pokémon like ditto or zorua for twohats, SOMETHING to tie back to where he’s from, etc.

I was REALLY attached to mismagius (mostly for the hat/ghost type combo) but also kept coming back to mimikyu for the island. mimikyu were added in alola, their whole thing is mimicking (but in a way that’s obviously wrong), the ghost type also works for the loss of memory and the disguise has a lot of potential for any conversations Siffrin normally has about their clothes. I really loved the idea of a disguise that told of how clearly they were loved. and then I had an epiphany.

do mimikyu disguises have to be pikachu?

I somehow managed to forget to write this, but Odile was the one who came up with the idea of the patch being the same colour as a mismagius eye. Siffrin doesn’t have an actual eyepatch underneath, because there is no eye (or eye socket) there either, most of the time - it’s just ghost mist. The patch was necessary to keep the disguise from fraying thanks to the damage, and the only way Isabeau could find to do that without damaging the craft on the disguise further was by patching over the damaged hole.

I debated a LOT with where to put Siffrin’s eyepatch. The ability disguise made it even harder - it would make more sense for it to activate, but the enemy wasn’t aiming for siffrin, they were aiming for Bonnie, who is probably tiny. I eventually decided that I was still going to have the sadness (equivalent) hit their actual eye, on grounds of “the only reason for an eyepatch would be if Bonnie stitched up the disguise eye as a non-verbal apology, rather than Isabeau” and “regardless of how naturally it happens, writing out disability is something I’m wary of”.

And yes! Mal du Pays! I knew fairly early on that I wanted to keep the silhouette but not the outline. Still not sure if I want to go with something close to canon Siffrin or something related to jirachi, but…

Do Midnight, Simon, and Vignette have any favorite dungeons/types of dungeons to explore?

Midnight's favorite dungeons are ruins (mostly because of their type advantage) and enjoys finding things that could be considered archaeology (I have a running gag planned for a long-term fic where Midnight keeps bringing Chatot cursed items and asking what they are). Plus, with the ruins Midnight can feel ghosts and sometimes interact with them!

Simon doesn't really feel a preference but it's definitely forests (even though he has to be extra careful bc both Midnight and Vignette are weak to bug types), he doesn't really HATE any dungeons except ones with unfair type disadvantages (like the Quicksand Desert).

Vignette is a little skittish and isn't a fan of getting dirty, but she does like places with scenic views like forests or cliff-sides. She's not a huge fan of ruins since it reminds her of death and other traumatic personal events.

Patches comes along sometime after these three idiots return to the future, and his favorite dungeons are dark, creepy places. Midnight doesn't mind as long as Simon is there to light the place up. Vignette minds. A lot.

tbh i think her partner pokemon would be a hisuian typhlosion, fire and ghost types fit her a lot with her being a bakeneko and also born in a haunted house. also something big she can hold and cuddle with. Really any ghost pokemon that is object themed is perfect for her, like litwick or sinistea. I’d even give her a mimikyu cause she’d love making it costumes and helping patch its disguise up, understanding very well how much clothes can affect your confidence

Pokemon Au: Does Glyanda ever have to deal with ghost Pokemon randomly sneaking into beacon?

Another night, another patrol. The deputy headmistress of Beacon Academy had multiple collateral duties atop being second to the headmaster himself. She was the deputy headmistress, one of the Elite Four for the Kingdom of Vale, a professor at Beaon, and the director of night security.

That last one was just a fancy title for late night security guard.

Her tasking was simple. Every night, when all students are required to enter quiet conditions, in which all students not in their beds were to retain themselves to their dorms, where they shall either sleep or otherwise keep their dialogue to little above a whisper. This would be an otherwise simple task if it wasn't for the fact that a number of students...

"EEEEEEEEEK~!"

...had Ghost-Type Pokémon.

While it can be said that labeling Ghost-Type Pokémon as malicious entities who at best perform near harmless pranks and at worst put lives at risk can be considered an insensitive action made against the spectral companions of some students, these statements are also not without their own truths.

Entering Team CFVY's dorm, Glynda found Weiss Schnee's Froslass circling inside the dorm, causing snow to drift and fill the room. Tapping her Poké-Ball, Glynda let loose her nightly companion to scare off the scarer.

"K-K-Kyu~!"

With a swipe of their shadowy palm, Glynda's Mimikyu, nicknamed Kiki, had sent the Snow Land Pokémon floating off through a wall, leaving a patch of frost where it fled. Without another word, Kiki jumped through the wall to give chase.

"Is everyone alright?"

"Y-Yes, Professor." Velvet replied.

"I'm sorry you have been frightened while I was on watch."

"O-Oh, I'm not f-frightened!" Velvet explained. "I-It's just v-v-very cold!"

"If you weren't the one who screamed, then who-"

"Is it gone yet?!" Yatsuhashi called from the bathroom.

Hey, guys. I made a fanmade Pokémon! It’s a Mimikyu evolution. I know that Mimikyu works great as a single-stage Pokémon, but I thought it would be sweet if Mimikyu, with its tragic need to hide itself, got an evolution that evolves from friendship and no longer needed to hide. Here are its dex entries:

Having gained a deep desire to be true to itself around its trusted partner, Trufuryu has learned to control the power that once harmed any who gazed upon its true form. It will still use this deadly power on any who harm its partner, however.

Trufuryu has mastered its abilities and no longer has to disguise itself to protect others. It still loves costumes, however, and will share them with anyone it deems a friend.

Here is the design of one of its forms, the green costume form:

Trufuryu has five forms, and switching between them is similar to how it works with oricorio. It can be caught in any of its five forms and giving it different coloured fabric changes its design. Orange fabric turns the patches orange and gives it a charmander tail where the bulbasaur bulb is, and brown, yellow or blue fabric changes the patches to brown, yellow or blue respectively and gives it a Squirtle shell or an Eevee or Pikachu tail. If I’d been thinking, I would have also given its little Pikachu bonnet green (and in its other forms, orange, blue, yellow or brown) blushes, like Mimikyu has. Maybe I would have put a few pincusion-like needles through the Pikachu bonnet and the bulb, too, to show what a good little tailor Trufuryu is.

Trufuryu has a signature move called “Needlework” that does damage of the type corresponding with its form (normal, electric, grass, fire, or water) and raises a different stat depending on which form it’s in (attack for normal, special attack for fire, special defence for grass, defense for water, or speed for electric).

Idk, I just like this wholesome little guy.
